Referees selected for the Yangshuo Cup will become part of an international team of officials working at a unique youth football tournament in China. The event provides an enjoyable and relaxed environment where referees can gain international experience, officiate matches across different age categories and work alongside both international and Chinese officials, creating valuable opportunities for learning and cultural exchange.
Referees attending the Yangshuo Cup will stay in a traditional local Chinese hotel selected by Referee Abroad for the duration of the tournament. Officials will typically be accommodated in twin rooms, providing a comfortable environment while also encouraging the international friendships and cultural exchange that are a key part of the Referee Abroad experience.
Breakfast will be provided daily at the hotel, while referees will receive a daily food allowance, allowing them the flexibility to choose where and what they would like to eat. The accommodation has been chosen to provide an authentic local experience while ensuring easy access to tournament activities and the surrounding area.
Combining traditional Chinese hospitality with comfortable accommodation and a welcoming atmosphere, the Yangshuo Cup offers referees a memorable stay both on and off the field.
Yangshuo Cup takes place in Yangshuo, a picturesque county in China’s Guangxi region that is widely regarded as one of the country’s most beautiful destinations. Surrounded by dramatic karst mountains, winding rivers and traditional rural landscapes, Yangshuo offers visitors a completely different perspective on China compared to its major cities. The area has long been a favourite destination for both domestic and international travellers thanks to its stunning scenery, relaxed atmosphere and rich local culture.
Away from the football field, referees will have the opportunity to experience authentic Chinese life, explore charming local streets and markets, sample regional cuisine and enjoy some of the most breathtaking natural landscapes in Asia. Whether cruising along the Li River, discovering traditional villages or simply taking in the spectacular views that have inspired Chinese artists and poets for centuries, Yangshuo provides an unforgettable setting for an international refereeing experience. Combining natural beauty, cultural discovery and a welcoming atmosphere, it is the perfect destination for referees looking to blend football with travel and adventure.
Although Yangshuo itself is a relatively small destination, reaching the tournament is straightforward thanks to China’s extensive transport infrastructure. International referees can fly directly to Guilin Liangjiang International Airport or arrive via major international gateways such as Guangzhou and Hong Kong.
Both Guangzhou and Hong Kong offer excellent international flight connections to destinations across Asia, Europe, Oceania, North America and the Middle East. From either city, referees can continue comfortably by China’s world-renowned high-speed rail network, reaching Yangshuo in just a few hours while enjoying one of the most efficient rail systems in the world.
The high-speed railway also makes it easy for referees wishing to extend their stay before or after the tournament. Popular destinations such as Guilin, Guangzhou, Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Shanghai, Beijing and Xi’an are all easily accessible, allowing participants to combine their refereeing experience with further exploration of China and Asia.
For many international visitors, the Yangshuo Cup represents not only an opportunity to officiate in one of China’s most beautiful regions, but also an ideal gateway to discovering one of the world’s most fascinating countries.
Please note: each referee is responsible for booking his or her own flights to/from China and for ensuring compliance with all visa and entry requirements applicable at the time of travel.

A fantastic experience with Referee Abroad, thanks to the opportunity to take part in both the Donosti Cup and the Porto International Cup. Two international tournaments that provided an extraordinary opportunity for both refereeing and personal growth. The professionalism and excellent organisation, together with the opportunity to interact with referees and football communities from different countries, made both experiences truly unique. I highly recommend Referee Abroad to any referee looking to develop, challenge themselves and experience international football. ⚽️🌍Posted on Google![]()

Referee Abroad has been an outstanding experience from start to finish. The entire organisation has a real family feel, and you’re made to feel welcome from the moment you arrive. Everyone—staff, mentors, and fellow referees—is incredibly friendly, supportive, and always willing to help you grow. Despite the warm atmosphere, the setup is also very professional. The communication is clear, the organisation is well structured, and the feedback you receive is genuinely useful for improving your refereeing. The tournaments are run smoothly and you always feel looked after both on and off the pitch. Whether you’re a new referee looking to build confidence or someone with experience wanting to challenge yourself in a different environment, Referee Abroad is a fantastic opportunity. It’s rare to find a programme that combines professionalism with such an inclusive, family-like community — but this one does exactly that. Highly recommended.+2Posted on Google![]()
