Referee Abroad is delighted to announce the appointment of Lukasz Oleszkiewicz as its new Director of Staff & Engagement.
Lukasz has been part of Referee Abroad for many years. He first joined as a young referee in his early 20s before moving into the role of Referee Manager. Over the past decade, he has become one of our most experienced leaders, managing referee teams at prestigious international tournaments including Ibercup Cascais, Ibercup Barcelona, and the Donosti Cup.
In addition to his extensive involvement in Referee Abroad, Lukasz brings strong professional experience from the corporate world. He currently serves as a Procurement Manager at Volkswagen in Wolfsburg, Germany, and has previously held positions in project management at Volkswagen and Capgemini Engineering. This blend of professional expertise and deep organisational knowledge will serve him well as he takes on this new role.
As Director of Staff & Engagement, Lukasz will be responsible for all aspects of staff management, engagement, and performance across Referee Abroad events and operations worldwide. His remit includes Referee Managers, Officers, junior staff, volunteers, and operational support roles. The position was created to ensure professional, consistent, and transparent staff management practices aligned with Referee Abroad’s values and vision for growth.
Referee Abroad President Daniele Curcio welcomed the appointment:
“Lukasz has grown with us from being a young referee to becoming one of our most trusted Referee Managers. His knowledge of our organisation, combined with his professional background and leadership skills, make him the perfect fit for this new role. I am certain he will help us strengthen our structure and deliver even greater experiences for referees and staff worldwide.”
We congratulate Lukasz on this exciting new chapter and look forward to the positive impact he will bring as Director of Staff & Engagement.
